1st October 2005
Congratulations to Chris Peel, recently promoted to 4th Dan at the ITF senior grading held on
25th September in Leicester.
Chris is the first ITUK member since we joined the GBITF to enter one of the ITF gradings and he
deserves special congratulations for putting on a good show and representing us well.
Well done Chris!
17th September 2005
Updated the clubs page; Master Zuza's club in Belper is now in the list.
8th June 2005
Updated the clubs page; removed Hucknall Leisure centre, Grantham and Melton.
Hucknall LC wound down around Easter and I forgot to remove it from the page, sorry. Kevin Jackson informed us recently
that he and Hanna were going their own way. I trust that we will still be seeing them from time to time.
26th March 2005
I've just modified the login page, hopefully some folks will find it easier.
The username and password are no longer case sensitive and you don't get locked out if you get it wrong.
Also, there is a cookie test that works properly; go the the Home page and then try to log in, if cookies
aren't enabled you get a message saying so.
22nd March 2005
Sorry folks, not been keeping the news page up to date. Here is a quick roundup -
28th February 2005
As of today we lost our club at Ironville, sadly, Mr Gregory felt that it was the right thing to make his club an
independant. Personally, I think that it is a great loss to the ITUK and hope that we will
still keep in touch even though we are separate. (This was not related to the GBITF although it occurred at the same time).
30th January 2005
The committee gave its go ahead to joining the GBITF, a new INO of the ITF. This will prove interesting
over the next few months whilst we understand fully what it means to us. Hopefully, it will lead to greater
opportunities for our students.
Two new clubs were announced, Mickleover and Beeston Rylands. Beeston will be opening in April and Mickleover when some
final wranglings over location have been resolved.
2nd September 2004
Please note that the Melton competition has moved a week later than previously advertised.
It will now be on the 24th October.
19th January 2004
Two new clubs were announced at the AGM, one in Hucknall and the other in Newhall, near Swadlincote.
Both will be opening in early February, see the clubs page for more details.
19th May 2003
Friday 13th June saw the closure of the club at Ratcliffe on Soar. It was a sad day for many of us but we made an
event of it and saw it off in style and showed Vic a bit of our appreciation. Thank you to all of the people who were
involved in making it a fitting end to our time there, the people who planned things, did things and all those who made
the turnout really good for the final session. Thaks also to the ex-members who came to the pub for a surprise visit.
Many of members who have become nomads have started drifting into Sutton Bonington's club. Thanks Pete for providing
us with a good local alternative. This is where you will find Vic training. He will also be running his own sessions
from here.
17th May 2003
This year's dates are on the move. The training seminar is being postponed until around September,
there may have to be some other changes to accomodate this.
I'm being told that the BTC championship won't happen this year. I don't know if this is the case and will keep you posted.
If there is no BTC I am told that we will be putting on a team championship instead.
12th January 2003
There is a new club opening on 28th January in Sutton Bonington, this follows on from the very
sad announcement that the club which has been running for 23 years at Ratcliffe on Soar
will be shutting its doors at the end of June 2003. This is to do with various issues
at the power station, not least of which is security and a lack of membership from the
station itself.
